The Mega Millions jackpot has climbed to an estimated $1.22 billion for Friday’s draw, following the absence of a winner for all six numbers during the Christmas Eve drawing.
The numbers selected for Friday night’s drawing are 3, 7, 37, 49, 55, with the Mega Ball number being 6. For those opting for a lump sum payout, the cash value is estimated at $516.1 million. However, the chances of hitting the jackpot remain extremely slim, with odds standing at 1 in 302,573,350.
While there was no grand prize winner on Tuesday, four tickets matched five numbers, each earning $1 million. These lucky tickets were purchased in California, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Wyoming.
If won, Friday’s jackpot would mark the fifth-largest prize in Mega Millions history and the biggest ever awarded in December, as noted by Mega Millions officials. This massive prize has been steadily increasing since September 10, when a jackpot of $810 million was claimed.
Mega Millions tickets are sold for $2 each in 45 states, Washington D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
